Overview

A Driveway Built from the Ground Up

Most driveway problems start underneath: a thin base, poor edging or water with nowhere to go. We dig out, build a compacted sub-base and set the edges before any surface goes down, so your drive stays level and drains the way it should.

You choose the finish. We lay block paving, resin bound, tarmac, gravel and natural stone, and we can combine them with borders, patterns and edging to suit the front of your house.

Frequently Asked Questions

Driveways Questions

Which driveway surface is best for my house?

It depends on how you use the drive, the look you want and your budget. Block paving is hard-wearing and easy to repair, resin gives a smooth modern finish, tarmac is practical for larger areas and gravel is the most affordable. We talk through each one at the site visit.

How much does a new driveway cost?

The price depends on the size of the area, the surface you choose, how much digging out is needed and any drainage or edging. We give you a written, itemised quote after a free site visit.

Do I need planning permission for a new driveway?

Front gardens over five square metres generally need a permeable surface, or a way for rainwater to drain onto the garden, to avoid needing planning permission. We plan the drainage with that in mind and explain the options before you commit.

How long does a driveway take to lay?

Most driveways take a few days to a week or so, depending on size, the surface and the weather. You get a start date and a realistic timescale with your quote.

Which areas do you cover?

We work across Sussex, from Horsham down to Brighton and Hove and the towns in between, including Haywards Heath, Burgess Hill, Lewes, Worthing and Seaford.
